Background Info
The Adelaide River NT Country Music Talent Quest began in 1993. A resourceful lady Margo Stanley, along with Paul Dale, saw the need for an event where performers of the N.T. could participate in a talent quest just for Country Music. From the early start the event now is a much anticipated event held each year as part of the Adelaide River Show on the Queens Birthday weekend, Saturday.
The Adelaide River NT Country Music Talent Quest currently provides a scholarship to the Australian College of Country Music which is managed by the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA). Each year a participant from the talent quest is chosen to be considered by the CMAA for inclusion in the college.
To attend 2 weeks at the college and gain valuable lessons in the field of Country Music, many people now are eager to be the "chosen one".
From our past winners Adelaide River NT Country Music Talent Quest can boast of 2 Tiara winners and 2 Golden Guitar winners - as well as helping others on the road to becoming country music performers. Not bad for a small town approximately 100 km's south of Darwin with a small population and the event is run by volunteers only. |
